Weavers are large spider-like beings who exist in multiple dimensions at once. They regard life on Bas-Lag as an ongoing work of art.

Overview

Weaver2

Weavers use their considerable powers to interfere with events according to their individual sense of aesthetics, and often appear before major events. They communicate in a disjointed, babbling flow of half-poetry, never pausing, only slipping in and out of audibility. Some Weavers develop obsessions for random objests, such as scissors and chess sets, that can change without notice. Their minds, when read, seem to be in a constant state of dreaming.

They are able to see, traverse across, and manipulate the fabric of space-time, as easily as a normal spider interacts with its own web. They are unpredictable and dangerous to most other beings, as their ways are completely incomprehensible. Their conscious and subconscious are one, and their thoughts are entirely emotional and dream-like, and always voiced – a Weaver thinks only in an external monologue.
