The Timberland Falls toe-biter is an imaginary monster made up by Lucy Dark in order to scare her younger brother, Randy. They are a diurnal monster, preferring to come out during the middle of the day when the sun is high in the sky. It is able to do this due to powerful chameleonic abilities that make it extremely difficult to see, similar to a chameleon as well as a ghillie suit. They are large, specifically stated as being larger than a dog but that due to its chameleonic tendencies nobody is able to quite make out just how large it actually happens to be. They move by crawling around, likely for the same reasons one crawls around while wearing a ghillie suit—to make oneself more properly blend in to their surroundings.
According to Lucy, the toe-biter had, a couple summers prior, arrived at their neighbors the Killeens' backyard and attacked one of the little girls of the family, Becky Killeen, while she sat in her inflatable swimming pool. Although at first it felt ticklish to her like a dog licking her toes, but began to get increasingly more painful until Becky's toes had been consumed.
