Behind the Scenes
Universe Godzilla: The Series

The Medusa is a giant amorphous sea creature which has been captured in an isolated Pacific atol and displayed by Tobias Wilson as one of the attractions in his traveling mutant circus.

Despite her marine origins, the Medusa has been shown to survive just as well on land, where she thrives by absorbing water from any available source, up to and including human bodies.

Biology[]

The Medusa is capable of alternating between a liquid state and a solid state. In her solid state she is a cone-shaped creature and possesses numerous tentacles, a single eye and a toothed mouth. Her entire body is covered in a permeable membrane through which she can absorb water. She can also grab people with her tentacles and absorb water from their skin, leaving her victims dehydrated.

According to molecular analysis performed by Elsie Chapman and Mendel Craven, the Medusa uses an internal thermostat system to be able to manipulate her form. When she increases her internal temperature, the heat acts as a catalyst, changing her body from solid to liquid. The same result can also be achieved if she's heated by an external source. By altering her own temperature, she can break down and rebuild her cellular structure at will.

Additionally, it's been noted that the Medusa's metabolism is fueled by electrolytes. Due to her gelatinous nature, she is highly resistant to gunshots.
