Lavadogs are a species of purple-skinned, lizard-like creatures with three pairs of legs and a flattened tail similar to that of a platypus. They're native to a system of air-field subterranean caverns deep in the Atlantic Ocean, which also house the sunken civilization of Atlantis.
Biology[]
Lavadogs are notable for their extreme environmental tolerance, as they're normally found swimming in volcanic lava, but are also capable of living in temperatures that Humans find comfortable without problem, and even tolerating snowy environments unharmed. They enjoy eating rock and minerals, sleeping in fireplaces and swimming in lava.
Cultural significance[]
Members of this species appear to be generally playful and intelligent, and are therefore domesticated by the Atlanteans to serve as companion animals.
