The Khilla (Carnosuncus pilopodus) inhabits the world of 50 million years in the future and is one of three highly-distinct kinds of desert predators descendant from modern shrews, along with the Leaping Devil and the Desert Sharks. Unlike them, the Khilla is a surface quadruped, although it does have broad forepaws which allow it to dig quickly in search for hidden prey. This animal stands about 60 cm high at the shoulders and is mostly nocturnal, spending the daytime in burrows. It lives in the desert areas of the Asian and African subcontinents.
