Inugami are a Japanese Wesen species who follow a traditional code of honor.

Biology[]

Like all Wesen, members of this species can disguise themselves as humans. In their undisguised form, they have canine features, bright blue eyes, and white fur.

Culture and society[]

Historically, Inugami have been regarded as guardians. They may be bound in servitude to a Kitsune family if the Kitsune has saved the Inugami's life in the past. It's currently not known if the same rule applies to other species besides the Kitsune.

Inugami place a high value in honor and tradition, and are not above executing enemies of the family that they serve, even without the family's awareness or approval. They consider it their duty to carry on these traditions and to protect the descendants of those who previously saved their lives.

When they kill, they follow a particular ritual in which they bury their enemy into the ground up to the neck, facing northeast towards a river. After that they decapitate their enemy with a katana and throw the severed head under a bridge. According to their beliefs, this ritual guarantees that the victim's soul will be eternally in peril, unable to move on to the afterlife.
