Hook Horrors are an aberration that takes the appearance a bony vulture-like humanoid with hooks for hands and a mottled gray, beetle-like shell. They stand nearly 9ft tall and weigh in at around 350lbs.
Although they possess a vulture-like head and feet, they appear to be evolved primarily from arthropod stock. The creature's exoskeleton is extremely thick and dense, and is considered to be as difficult to breach as metal armor. While this may lead some observers to assume they could be defensive creatures, this hypothesis ends upon viewing their forelimbs, which end in 12 inch long, razor sharp, blade-like hooks, which the creature gets its name from - these are the creature's primary method of combat. They can however strike with their clawed feet or their equally-hooked beak, those these are not quite as efficient killing tools. They seem to have only decent eyesight, as their possess the multifaceted complex eyes of other insects.
