|Behind the Scenes|
Hedgehog Pies are relatively weak but widely dispersed reptilian or amphibian, appearing on several planets such as two worlds called Gaia, . Although more than one subspecies exist, they all appear to be short and plump and have reddish skin and sport a mischievous grin; spikes cover their back almost like hedgehog quills (hence the name).
Gaia (Final Fantasy VII)Edit
Gaia has several varieties of Hedgehog Pie. Because two physical variations exist in the same sectors of the same city, it might be possible to indicate a maturation level or sexual dimorphism.
Midgar Hedgehogs inhabit Sector 5 of Midgar, including in the local church and the slums. Both varieties have an affinity for fire and small tusks at the back of the mouth. A shorter, fatter variety with clawed digits, a paler reddening of the stomach, and thicker quills are known to attack using body blows but can also cast fire as a spell; they are also weak to cold attacks such as ice spells. By comparison, a larger, taller, and thinner variety can also be found in the areas, with a paler coloration including a white stomach area; more suction pad-like digits; a long, green tongue; and thinner quills. This secondary variety are capable of full immunity to fiery attacks against them and sustain regular injury from ice-oriented attacks.
Gaia (Final Fantasy / Final Fantasy IX)Edit
Eunorus Hedgehogs inhabit the Eunorus Plains of the Mist Continent, though unlike other subspecies are incapable of magical capacity, instead using only physical attacks. They somehow convey the pumpkin head technique onto Qu who eat them.
Unnamed planet (Crystal Chronicles)Edit
Tipa Hedgehogs are weak creatures, though they can breathe miasma like most monsters. They can only be found on the Tipa Peninsula, and have been recorded only along the River Belle and the Mushroom Forest. Like other varieties, they will attack physically but can also naturally cast fire spells.
