The Gappas (ガッパ Gappa?) are a species of ancient reptilian bird kaiju that first appeared in the 1967 kaiju film, Gappa.

Appearance[]
The Gappa appear as large bipedal lizard like creatures with five finger digits on their hands and three finger digits on their feet with a big horn like fin on the top back of their heads and two small horns on their heads along with small ears,gappas also posses several spikes running down their back all the way to their long tail which they usually have a part of it curved up.The gappa also have two wings on their back which they obviously use to fly with ,unlike the wings of a bird these wings are evolved ribs instead of arm bones.Similar to birds gappas have a beak,this short beak is filled with fangs that help the gappa when they hunt.Gappas also have scales due to being reptilian and are very thick and strong allowing them to be able to survive conventional weaponry when hit.Male Gappas are bigger than female Gappas by 1,000 plus tons.

- The Gappas have an underwater speed of 150 knots.
- The Gappas can perform a destructive force of 2 million hps.
- The Gappas' wings can emit hurricane-force winds.
- The Gappas can cause tsunamis or storm surges by their wing powers.
- Adult Gappas can fire Radiant Heat Beam (放射熱光線 Hōshanetsu Kōsen?) (being described as "equals to death ray" in the film) from their mouths that can burn and melt anything it touches. This ability makes Gappas immune to poisons.
- The Gappas emit bioluminescence from eyes (blue-white underwater and yellow on land).
- Female Gappa has pearl-like substances likely within her legs. This substances will cause humans blind.
- Juvenile Gappa's body is electrified and causes electric arcs/sparks whenever metals are attached to the body.
- This indicates that adult Gappas can possibly emit electricity.
