"I am Yulaw! I am nobody's bitch! You are mine. I don't need to know you. You only need to know me. I will be the one."
— Gabriel Yulaw, The One (2001 film)
A superhuman criminal named Gabriel YuLaw, once an officer of the "Multiverse Authority" (MVA) that polices interdimensional travel who killed one of his versions in self-defense which made him stronger, now seeks to hunt down and kill all other variations of himself in alternate universes. By killing all of his other selves, thus becoming the last version of himself and absorbing their life energies, he believes he will become "The One", a godlike being. After killing 123 versions of himself YuLaw was arrested and sentenced to a prison colony in the Hades Universe. However, YuLaw manage to escape and set course to the last version of himself, Gabriel "Gabe" Law so he can kill him and be The One. In his attempt he destroyed Gabe's life and killed his wife. Gabe and Funsch, an agent of MVA, track him down to an industrial plant where a hole will open in a short time. Yulaw fight Gabe and Yulaw seemingly wins. However, Gabe recovers and the fight goes on with Gabe emerging as the victor. The three were caught in the hole and transported to MVA headquarters. Yulaw try to switch his identity with Gabe, but Funsch notices the wedding ring mark on Gabe finger. Yulaw is sent to the prison colony universe where he declares his intent to still become the one; standing at the top of a Ziggurat in the Hades universe; in order to prove his capability of becoming the one, YuLaw commences to battle oncoming waves of hundreds of provoked fighters approaching the Ziggurat.
Yulaw is the opposite of his counterpart Gabe Law as he is willing to do whatever it take to get what he want and will kill anyone who stand in his way even his old friend. Yulaw uses Xingyiquan (The Shape-Will Fist), characterized by aggressive linear movements, while Gabe uses Baguazhang (The Eight Trigram Palms) which uses subtle, circular movements.
