The Fin Lizard (Velusarus bipod) is a bipedal armless reptile which lives in the North American deserts, about 50 million years in the future. The fins on its neck and tail allow it to dissipate body heat and can be expanded or retracted depending on the weather conditions. When running, it can reach speeds of up to 50 km per hour.
