Dire Wolves were a common species of large wolf that existed in Terisiare's last glacial period. They were highly aggressive. They hunted in packs and were known for predating upon woolly mammoths. Despite their name, they are physiologically different from actual Dire Wolves, as they have large canines that extend out of their mouths when closed.
They went extinct at the end of the Ice Age.
