Carnivorans

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH CARNIVORES!

Carnivorans are mammals belonging to the order Carnivora. In spite of their name, not all of them are necessarily carnivorous (i.e.: obligatory meat-eaters). Some members of the order can be omnivorous (such as bears and raccoons), or herbivorous (such as pandas).

The order is divided in two main lineages: the feliforms (which includes cats, mongooses, fossas, hyenas, civets, linsangs, etc.) and the caniforms (which includes dogs, weasels, skunks, raccooons, pandas, bears, etc.).
