Boos are a species of ghosts who live in the haunted places and are some of the most common sapient beings in the entire Ghost House. Their leader is King Boo. They're shown to have a mischievous disposition, but are very shy, and cover their faces and halt when looked at. Though not all boos are hostile, there are good boos, such as Bootler and Lady Bow, who are friends with Mario.
