The Bag Swordfish is a cryptid hoax created for and displayed in the Japanese "museum", Gensou Hyouhon Hakubutsukan. It can be found in the first floor's second room, which is dedicated to aquatic specimens. Although another species known as the Swordfish can also be found in this room, the two are unrelated.
Biology[]
Bag Swordfish are species of billfish notable for the unusual "bump" on its head. This may be related to the hump found on the heads of larger adult humphead wrasse and green humphead parrotfish. The spines covering their body are presumably covered in fin webbing in life. Their sword bill is much smaller than other billfish.
Like other billfish, they are presumably piscivorous, using their bill to help stun potential prey animals.
